Traditional MBA programs are quickly becoming a leading alternative to traditional MBA programs. Since students seek ways to shorten study time and employees need to return to work after a short time, these programs allow for shorter study time. Generally the completion time allowed in these fast-paced MBA programs sometimes called the One Year MBA, is between 12-18 months.
Accelerated MBA programs cover the core business subjects in less time than the traditional programs taught in MBA schools. Optional subjects and opportunities for specialization are limited. An intensive schedule makes attendance compulsory and advisable only for students who have an advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of management, gained though some combination of undergraduate coursework and industrial experience.
For those students who already have ample working business knowledge, the accelerated MBA program is a good option. Not all students are prepared for an executive-level MBA program, some of which require 10 or more years of experience. Tight scheduling in this program generally means that internships are not typically part of the curriculum
