Important Issues when proposing MBA Sponsorship |

MBA Sponsorship must be treated as an important investment decision that the organization takes.
Before deciding whether to sponsor an employee on MBA Program, organizations should be aware of some of the issues that can arise:
- Some organizations have a fear of bestowing a sponsorship only to see the student/employee leave for another organization. Research shows that students usually stay with an organization that sponsors them unless the level of frustration and a failure to recognize their skills is unbearable.
- The MBA Sponsorship may lead to increased expectation on the part of the individual. This may be in terms of financial remuneration for the employee, but most likely in terms of a desire for increased responsibility within the organization.
- When organizations bestow sponsorships on student studying for the MBA the idea is designed to increase a set of skills, therefore it is not surprising that they will wish to use them within their own organization. Organizations should consider how they plan to utilise the MBA in order to develop human resources and align their development and support mechanisms to take this into account
